Question: I have a Bartholin's Gland Cyst and am facing surgery, do you have any information on the associated risks of this type of surgery.

Answer: As with any surgery, there are always risk of infection and scarring. The vulva is very sensitive and delicate, and surgery on occasion has led to vulvodynia, i.e. chronic vulvar pain and irritation. For this reason, surgery should always be the very last option.
