Question: When I insert my finger into my vagina, about an inch and a half in I feel something hard and sharp. It sort of feels like a disk, and there is some kind of tube coming out of it. It's on the upper part of my vaginal wall, and it's very uncomfortable to touch, and sometimes painful. I'm only sixteen, so I don't want to go to a gynecologist, can you tell me what it is? I also have a lot of vaginal secretions, to the point where it soaks through my underwear almost every day. What can I do to stop this, and are these two things related?
Answer: Based on what you describe, I believe the area in question is your female prostate gland, commonly known as the G-Spot. This subject is addressed in detail on the page about Female Ejaculation.
The glands that comprise the female prostate gland can swell up and cause the vaginal wall to project into the vaginal cavity. They can also become very sensitive to touch, especially when engorged. The cause of over engorgement could be that the glands are not permitted to drain, this occurs if a woman resists the urge to ejaculate during orgasm. The glands may then become irritated; this is somewhat educated speculation on my part. If during masturbation, partner sex, or orgasm you feel the urge to urinate, especially when this area is stimulated, but resist the urge or prevent it, you may not permit yourself to ejaculate and release the collected fluid. Many women have to unlearn the habit of preventing the release of ejaculate during orgasm. When the periurethral glands (G-Spot, female prostate gland) become infected it is referred to as urethral diverticulum.
In regards to your vaginal fluids, if there is no unpleasant smell, itching, and the discharge has not changed in color or consistency since the onset of puberty, I am sure the amount you produce is normal for you. The fluid is the result of your body caring for itself. You may also experience sexual arousal frequently, given your age, which may contribute to this. It is recommended that women always wear dresses and skirts and wear 100% cotton underwear, though bare bottom is actually better, because their vagina is always producing these fluids. This is addressed in detail on the page about Hygiene. The amount of vaginal fluids produced daily is covered on that page too.
