Several years ago, I was asked on several occasions to feature surveys, but was reluctant to do so, as their results would not be an accurate representation of the general population of women. The results would only be representative of the English speaking women who had access to the survey, and furthermore by those motivated to participate.
You can unintentionally, or intentionally, force participants to answer in ways that do not accurately reflect their experience, by limiting the number of possible answer choices. The possible results are limited by those who create the survey, as a result of their expectations and believes. If they do not expect, or want, the participants to answer in a certain way, they cannot. This is the reason why I often provide a wide range of possible answers, especially when I had no idea of how women would answer the question.
With this type of survey you cannot verify the accuracy of the results, and you don't know if the participants are being honest with you, or themselves. There are also communication barriers, especially with a global survey. As a result, these surveys serve more an entertainment purpose than a scientific one. The results of the survey represent the women who participate, not necessarily women in general.
The surveys will likely change with time, as data is collected, and a need for change is noted. The old surveys results will be accessible even if new are created.
The surveys are hosted off site, at a website that is dedicated to surveys.
This first survey looks at what sexual experiences women have had in their life. What have they done or not done sexually? What are they interested in sexually? It looks at many different aspects of their sexuality, and its many potential forms. Later surveys will look at specific areas of their sexuality in more detail. I have done my best to allow for a multitude of different sexual experiences and backgrounds. Background information is collected so we can have an idea of who has participated. This survey looks at the physical aspects of female sexuality rather than their feelings about it.
